Flu vaccines 2013

Monday, September 09, 2013
Now is the time to begin immunizing children against influenza. Current guidelines are that all healthy children between 6 months and 18 years of age receive a flu vaccine. We at Elizabeth Pediatrics certainly endorse that recommendation. All of our doctors and staff will soon be getting our annual flu vaccinations.

There are 2 forms of the immunization. There is the traditional flu shot and there is also a nasal mist flu vaccine for those children 2 years and older. Children under the age of 9 who are receiving a flu vaccine for the first time need to get two doses, spaced one month apart, in order to get the full benefit.

We are now scheduling appointments for flu immunizations. Call us now to schedule a flu vaccination for your child.
