Flu vaccines 2014

Friday, October 03, 2014

Flu season is approaching and we at Elizabeth Pediatrics strongly encourage all of our patients to get a flu vaccine. All of our staff will be receiving their vaccine in the coming days. Current guidelines are that all children 6 months and older should receive the vaccine.

We have all forms of flu vaccine available. Children 2 yrs and older may receive the nasal flumist if desired. Those with asthma or recent wheezing must receive the injection.

If your child is less than 9 yrs old and will be receiving the flu vaccine for the first time ever, a second booster dose is needed one month after the first dose.

Please call our office and schedule your child’s flu vaccine at your earliest convenience.

Camp, sports, daycare and school forms

Monday, June 02, 2014

As we head into the summer camp season and the upcoming new school year, many parents will have forms that need completion. We ask that you fill out all of the parental parts before sending the form to us. Please note that on many sports forms there is a family history section that must be completed by the parent and reviewed by the physician completing the form.

We have a high volume of forms and ask that you give us 3 business days for completion. We are happy to mail forms.

It is your responsibility to ensure that your child is up to date on his/her regular scheduled well visits. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends annual well visits for children 12 years old and up. It is through those visits that the doctors can evaluate the overall health and growth of your child. It is also at those visits that recommended and required immunizations are administered. We cannot complete a form for a patient if he/she is not up to date on their well visit.

Briar Creek sewer improvement project construction

Tuesday, November 05, 2013

Contractors for Charlotte Mecklenburg Utility Department expect to begin new pipeline construction in the parking lot of Eastover Medical Park as soon as mid-November 2013. Mobilization of equipment and materials may come several weeks before pipe installation begins and will be stored in staging areas.

Partial closure of the parking lot is necessary to complete the work, which is expected to take several months. Detours will be in place to ensure employees, patients and visitors can safely access the buildings during this time.
